Syria has become a province of Turkey

Today Syria is in a position where it is following and implementing all the policies of Turkey. During the period when Leader Apo was in Syria, it resisted Turkey’s impositions for a long time. However that period is an exception to the rule. Turkey wants the elimination of the PKK and this is why Syria is going along

KCK Executive Council Member Cemil Bayık has attracted attention to the position of Syria following the fall of the Soviet Union and said that it has struggled against the pressure of the USA and Israel. Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan had been forced to leave Syria in 1998 with pressure from these two countries and England. Following this event Syria had virtually been taken hostage said Bayık. The policy ‘‘if you oppose the PKK and Kurds we will protect and sustain you’’ implemented by the Turkish state against Syria has been successful stated Bayık.
‘‘Today Syria is in a position where it is following and implementing all the policies of Turkey. During the period when Leader Apo was in Syria, it resisted Turkey’s impositions for a long time. However that period is an exception to the rule. Turkey wants the elimination of the PKK and this is why Syria is going along,’’ said KCK Executive Council Member Cemil Bayık, and added, the policies of Turkey-Iran-Syria and Iraq towards the Kurds have been supportive of one another for a long time.
This policy is one of denial and extermination he stated. Bayık identified the real masters of this policy as England and France, and attracted attention to the role of Turkey: ‘‘the leading administrator of this policy is Turkey. The practises of Iran, Syria and Iraq in Kurdistan have always been administered by Turkey. The Kurdish policy is determined, with the support of external forces, by Turkey. The policy of preventing a democratic political solution to the Kurdish issue and insisting on denial and extermination is a policy that Iraq, Iran and Syria are also implementing.’’

During these twenty years the Kurdish freedom movement’s proposals for a solution have been coherent with Turkey’s territorial dignity and have been based on a fundamental democratisation of Turkey.
