To Our People and Public Opinion!
Despite all the peaceful efforts of our Leader Abdullah Öcalan and Movement, the AKP government is insisting on and continuing policies of war, violence and repression as a solution to the Kurdish issue; the isolation of our Leader, military operations against our Movement and police terror, torture and arrests against our people and Kurdish politics continue. Within this framework the AKP government, with the technology and intelligence it receives from international powers in return for its work in the Middle East as a subcontractor for them, has been persisting in air strikes since August 17th. As the HPG announced to public opinion there were five losses of life in Haftanin, three in Zagros, four in Xakurke and one in Xinere in these air strikes.
We are deeply sad to announce that in the recent air strike on the Xakurke-Xinere area on October 10th we had heavy losses which included members of our executive committee. KCK Executive Council Member Rüstem Cudi (Rüstem Osman), HPG Military Council Member Çiçek Kıçi (Guhar Çekirge), HPG Military Council Member Alişer Koçgiri (Yücel Halis) and valued HPG militants Nazlıcan, Eşref, Roj Amara and Dr Amara were martyred in a despicable attack. Also on October 8th KCK Executive Council Ex Member and valued Commander Baz Mordem (Emrah Bayer) and HPG militant Bager Tatvan were martyred in the Kato Marinos area.
The martyring of our valued comrades is a serious and painful loss for us. We send our condolences firstly to their families and also the People of Kurdistan and promise that their memories will continue to live on in our Freedom Struggle.
Patriotic People of Kurdistan!
The Peoples’ Defence Forces (HPG) administration decided that the loss of our valued comrades would be declared only after retaliatory action was taken and for this reason carried out the “Martyr Çiçek Operation” in the Çelê area. With this comprehensive and revolutionary operation the HPG has demonstrated to everyone its way of protecting and claiming the memory and struggle of its fallen heroic comrades. The bloodthirsty AKP state should know that for every council member that is martyred we will continue to reply with an action like Çelê. It is evident that the military performance and expertise of our Movement exceeds the operation in Çelê. As long as the HPG command and fighters, the children of Kurdistan, have this superhuman spirit and performance no one can ignore the will of the Kurdish people and attack them. The resistance and bravery of the 7 HPG fighters who were martyred in the revolutionary action in Çelê is proof of this.
All the peoples’ of Turkey and its public opinion should know that the AKP government are responsible for all the deaths that are occuring on both sides because it is the AKP who insisted on violence, massacre and elimination as a solution to the Kurdish issue. The continuous land and air attacks aimed at massacring Kurds, the unlawful and amoral isolation policy against our Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the endless repression of our people and the arrests of Kurdish politicians who insisted on an honourable stance has led to these deaths. If the AKP government do not change their decision of wholesale war then it is evident that the number of casualties will rise. Although it is the Prime Minister who is responsible for all this bloodletting and the tears of mothers, he brazen-facedly accuses others, this is nothing but the manipulation of the truth. Those who are saying “Our revenge will be great” should know that the Kurdish people and its Freedom Movement have the strength to protect themselves and retaliate against all colonialist attacks. Taking possession of and alienating the Kurdish people by massacring them is no longer possible and a strategy of the past.
The struggle against the colonialist AKP governments’ elimination concept, which exceeds the fascist policies of the 1990s and is an undeclared state of emergency, will be developed and strengthened by the Kurdish Peoples’ resistance for freedom. The colonialist-racist mentality of the AKP, which is devoid of empathy and sees it a right to murder freedom fighters and Kurdish people so that it can break their will and enslave them will be resisted against with the party line of Rüstem, Çiçek and Alişer and ensure victory.
The labours of our martyred comrades Rüstem Cudi, Çiçek Kıçi and Alişer Koçgiri, each one surpassing 25 years in different areas of the struggle and exhibiting unparalleled bravery at crucial moments is a message of resistance for the people of Kurdistan, its youth and all the cadres of our Movement. The same can be said for our comrade Baz Mordem and all our other martyrs who dedicated their lives to the freedom of their people and revolution. As the fearless militants of the Apoist movement their resolute struggle, actions and lives will always illuminate our path.
Patriotic People of Kurdistan;
Our struggle is now at a crucial period in its history. The colonialist AKP government, which has ignored a political solution to the Kurdish issue, is attempting to get results by waging a dirty war against not just the Kurdistan Freedom Movement but also yourselves, the patriotic people of Kurdistan. This murderous mentality is using all its means of military force, the support of international powers and also police terror to achieve this. However when legitimate retaliatory action is taken the President and Prime Minister openly threaten our Movement and People, provoke paramilitary forces against the people and try to get results by lynching. The aim is to intimidate and scare our people. The patriotic people of Kurdistan must organise its defence against this threat and develop its potential for uprising in reply. We are appealing to our people to raise the patriotic resistance against the AKP’s colonialist policies and achieve freedom.
The colonialist Turkish state is using threats and blackmail to neutralise Kurdish patriotism not just in North Kurdistan but also the other parts (of Kurdistan). With this in mind they have raised and activated their military presence in South Kurdistan. We would like to openly declare that: the operations of the Turkish state in South Kurdistan will end in defeat and the region will turn into a quagmire for them. The Prime Minister is aware of this and is trying to get results by influencing the politics in South Kurdistan. This is why Kurdish politics is faced with a very important test at this crucial moment. If it displays a strong stance against these colonialist forces and takes steps to develop national unity, it is possible for the colonialists to be defeated and Kurds to achieve freedom. It is imperative that Turkish colonialism is not encouraged. The role of the Kurdistan Regional Government Leadership and all other South Kurdistan politicians is very important for national unity to be developed. It is certain that the patriotic-altruistic stance of the people South Kurdistan will especially aid national unity and resistance.
Despite not recognising language rights and a legal status to 20 million Kurds in the 21st century and imposing assimilation in all its forms, Turkish colonialism is, rather than bringing about peace, insisting on state terror and ironically labelling the Kurdish peoples’ legitimate struggle as terrorism and trying to get support internationally to suppress the Kurdish struggle. We are appealing to all international and regional forces to be aware of the lies and distortions of the Turkish state and to support a peaceful-democratic solution to the Kurdish issue, not the violence and massacre policies of the Turkish state.
All the great martyrs in the history of our struggle have created new strides and breakthroughs in our resistance. Now it is a fundamental duty for us to turn the martyrdom of Rüstem, Çiçek, Alişer and patriotic youth leader Baz into a drive for victory. To lay claim to the values and become the comrades of these brave militants can only be achieved by becoming a cadre of the Apoist revolutionary drive and keeping alive the flame of these comrades on the road to triumph. Thus we are appealing to all the commanders, cadres, fighters and all valued sympathizers to keep alive the memory of our heroic martyrs, and to join in the struggle in full force by joining the guerrilla forces and developing the uprising.
In particular our people should be aware that a new and political struggle and leap forward has commenced and thus should strengthen its organization and target success on the basis of a high level participation.
